Frequently asked questions
How do I install my super fabulous
fake cameras?
You can do it yourself
with a small ladder or chair and screw gun or hire a
local lighting contractor.
Do not hire internal staff or let anyone know. First fasten the
base plate on the wall, ceiling or post. Then without anyone looking
attach the camera body to the mount and sneak in the wire if needed.
Where should I put them?
Fasten your fake cams
anywhere and keep them high as possible. If you mount them on a solid post,
you may want to run extra cable with one end through the building
exterior.
1/4 inch drill bit will work for most co-ax cable. Most people will
mount them about a foot from the ceiling on the wall, leaving enough space
to swivel the unit to aim at an entrance.
I have the blinking red light
option, how often to I have to change the batteries?
You will have to replace
the two AA batteries about once a year if they are
'Duracell'
type. Don't worry if they run out, the cameras will still keep working.
Will insurance companies reduce my rate if I have fake
cameras set up?
Yes in most cases. We have surveyed a handful of
insurance adjusters
and found they are very positive about visible security systems and are
willing to reduce rates on commercial and residential buildings.
Will these stop nosey neighbors and friends
from 'borrowing' tools when I'm not home?
You bet, as long as they know you have a new
camera system in place, then your plants will stay in place too.
How do purchase your super fabulous fake cams not
on-line?
Easy, fax us with your purchase order to
1-866-553-1921 and we will send you an invoice with your products to pay
within 60 days. Just print the product pages, add up the total with
shipping calculated at the shopping cart page and send check to our
address listed when you receive your order.
What happens
if I set my cameras and signs up and I get broken it to?
Let us know immediately as you would be
the first to us. Secondly ascertain whether they knew the cameras were
there. IE ladder up to the face for inspection or aimed differently.
Don't let your wires hang loose, and if anybody asked...they weren't
turned on.
